Many beautiful weddings take place in the original old Church at the head of historic Church Street. The church was built in the late 1700’s and takes up to 90 people, making for a very special and memorable day. From the church guests can ramble up historic Church Street to one of our reception venues.
Smaller weddings receptions (40) people can be held at Wittedrift Art Manor in Church Street.
Larger weddings can be accommodated in a marquee in Church Streets Community Garden.
Tour operators & Travel agents can inquire about our STO rates. We are able to accommodate up to 90 people in 43 rooms over ten properties in Church Street. Accommodation is comparable to a hotel, just spread out down a quiet historic street.
Wittedrift Art Manor is a perfect party venue and is regularly hired out for smaller weddings, birthday parties, formal dinner parties, bachelor’s weekends and as a venue for meditation retreats.

HISTORIC TULBAGH WALKING TOUR
On Appointment R100 per person including the museum charges.
Join our local historian and heritage activist, Jayson Clark for a 90 minutes tour of historic Church street and explore some of the interiors of many of Tulbagh’s heritage buildings and 19th century streetscape. The story tells the history of Tulbagh as an outpost of the Cape Colony, through the age of pioneers and colonists as well as the development of the Cape vernacular architectural style. Special attention is given to the earthquake and subsequent restoration of the 32 National Monuments and in the street.

The tour starts at historic Twee Jong Gezellen where you will experience an underground champagne cellar tour and tasting.
Next a visit to Saronsberg to sample their world class wine and enjoy their award winning contemporary architecture and impressive South African modern art collection.
No visit to the Tulbagh valley is complete without a visit to Moniki Chocolatier, a beautiful farm with outstanding views, beaten only by the uniqueness and quality of her homemade chocolates.
